Recently, at the cross-border e-commerce supervision site in Yantai Comprehensive Bonded Zone, neatly stacked parcels were being scanned and sorted one by one. Over 100,000 cross-border e-commerce packages were being categorized and packed according to their destinations. After completing customs clearance procedures, they will be shipped via liner and then transferred to flights bound for various parts of the world.

"This year's '618' shopping festival saw us expand our cross-border e-commerce business to more countries," said Li Jun, head of the cross-border e-commerce department at Sinotrans Yantai International Logistics Co., Ltd. Leveraging the "sea-air intermodal transport" model introduced by Yantai Customs, the company has expanded its export business this year, with overall operations growing steadily.

To help cross-border e-commerce enterprises better utilize the advantages of "sea-air intermodal transport," Yantai Customs has provided policy guidance and risk assessments, promptly informing businesses of international market trends. Additionally, the customs authority has implemented a "inspect before loading" supervision model, conducting batch inspections and streamlined operations to enhance the efficiency of transit and vehicle turnover at the site, further improving the convenience of cross-border e-commerce exports.
"Since adopting the 'sea-air intermodal transport' model, we have exported over 2 million cross-border e-commerce parcels, with annual growth expected to exceed 40%," said Yan Shaopeng, director of Yantai Baoyuntong Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd.
